Background and Education
For Dr. Mayra Munguia, dentistry was never a career she stumbled into — it was something she grew up around and knew from an early age was her calling. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from one of the top universities in Mexico, then completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Western University of Health Sciences in California, bringing together two rigorous academic foundations that shaped the clinician she is today.
Advanced Training
Dr. Munguia holds advanced training in implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign clear aligners and oral conscious sedation, and invests more than 400 continuing education hours every year — with a deep focus on implants and cosmetic care — because she believes her patients deserve a dentist who never stops learning. Her favorite cases to treat are zirconia crowns, dental implants and Invisalign.
Why She Became a Dentist
What has always driven Dr. Munguia is a genuine desire to serve her community and build real relationships with the people she cares for. She takes the time to listen, explain, and understand each patient's concerns before recommending any course of treatment, and she holds herself to an exceptionally high standard that she has carried throughout her career. Her guiding principle is to treat every patient the way she would want her own family to be treated. She is a Spanish-speaking dentist and welcomes patients in English or Spanish.
Outside the Office
When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Munguia enjoys traveling, cooking, and gardening, and she treasures the time she spends with her family. The same warmth and attention she brings to those relationships is something every patient at Dentist of Redlands gets to experience firsthand.
